| Lionel Messi Left One Step From Cristiano Ronaldo |
Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos believes his team-mate, Cristiano Ronaldo, is more deserving of the Ballon d'Or this year than Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
As you know, Ronaldo has scored 24 goals in 17 games for Los Blancos this season, while Messi often disrupted performance this year. The Argentine was injured until the new year, after he had 'goal drought' which is unusual for four games.
"Messi left one step behind. Not in the past, but this year Cristiano has been the best," said Ramos told Movistar.
"You have to give the Ballon d'Or for the best player for the moment, this should not be a personal decision."
Although Messi has a problem, the Argentine was still able to contribute 14 goals in 16 games.
