Bank of France Could Send Money Via Tweet |
One of France's largest bank, BPCE teamed up with Twitter so that their clients can send money via a tweet. Reuters said the step is in line with attempts by BPCE Twitter for online payment systems entered the market as a new source of revenue beyond advertising.
The trend of online payment system is the new battle ground for many companies, including Apple, Facebook, and the old players like PayPal. BPCE said last month they had already prepared a service that lets Twitter users in France sending money through the tweet to the customer, regardless of whatever the banks which they use, and the sender does not need to know the recipient's banking information.
Payments via this tweet will be managed by the S-service Money belonging to BPCE, allowing clients to send money via SMS and relying on credit card industry security standards.
Delivery service via this tweet from Twitter's financial services complements. Last month, they launched "Twitter Buy" in several places in the United States as an experiment.
